Cervical cancer screening is as easy as getting a Pap test (also called a Pap smear). A Pap test can detect any abnormal cells in the cervix before they turn into cancer or while cancer is still in the early, treatable stages. Women should get a Pap test at least every three years.
If you would like more information on cervical cancer or to schedule an appointment with an East Jefferson General Hospital OB/GYN for a Pap test, please call HealthFinder at 504-456-5000 or visit us at www.ejgh.org.
