Hospice Volunteers | Holy Trinity Lutheran Church

Two opportunities available for Hospice volunteers

1. Become a volunteer at Hospice of Central Pennsylvania. They are looking for warm, caring dependable people who can visit patients, support and help family care-givers, run errands, lend a shoulder or give a hug. They are also in need of volunteers who are interested in clerical or computer work, fund raising and special events.

The next volunteer training program will take place on Thursday evenings beginning September 8, 2011 in Carlisle. They will cover topics related to the care of the terminally ill, such a hospice care concepts, pain control, listening skills, family dynamics, the spiritual aspects of death, dying and loss, and bereavement support. 2. Bring quality of life to others and to yourself by becoming a PinnacleHealth Hospice Volunteer! PinnacleHealth Hospice is seeking caring individuals
interested in providing support and companionship to
its? Hospice patients and their families.

Potential volunteers receive training that enables them to examine their attitudes toward loss and death, enhances their communication skills, allows them to explore the physical and emotional issues faced by Hospice patients and families, and trains them to provide emotional support for bereaved family members. The training provided allows the new volunteer to understand their role as members of the PinnacleHealth Hospice team.

The four session training program will be held August 10, August 17, August 24, and August 31. All sessions will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at:
