Healthy desserts are fast becoming the easiest way to cut calories and break free from the high carbohydrate and high sugar desserts that are keeping us from being healthier. Realistically dessert is something that everyone wants from time to time.

Nearly everyone has a sweet tooth to some degree and ending a delicious meal with a sweet treat seems very natural indeed, especially at holiday and family gatherings.

Sugar substitutes like Nutrasweet can be used or one of the new sweeteners that are made from natural plant extracts. These can be used to create amazing desserts with no calories and lower alcohol sugar content.

Healthy desserts are typically simple. Things like berries or fruit with some extra flavorings make excellent healthy desserts. For example, add some fresh raspberries or pineapple chunks to some fat free yogurt.
