UPMC Hamot announced last week that a new fitness facility, Erie Health and Fitness Club, will open on August 1, in the current UPMC Hamot Wellness Center location.
UPMC Hamot announced last month that they would be closing the UPMC Hamot Wellness Center effective July 31, but have been working to transition the Wellness Center so that its members could maintain access to the downtown fitness facility.
?At UPMC Hamot, we are committed to providing the highest quality patient care, in addition to supporting community health and wellness programs,? said Jim Fiorenzo, UPMC Hamot Chief Operating Officer. ?Erie Health and Fitness Club will offer members the expertise, commitment, and skills required of an exceptional health and fitness program.?
Anthony Pribonic, Erie Health and Fitness Club president, said that he and his business partner and brother, Matt Pribonic, are excited about opening a facility in downtown Erie and will be working with UPMC Hamot to transition the Wellness Center to become Erie Health and Fitness Club.
?We also are looking forward to meeting and working with Wellness Center members to help them achieve their health and fitness goals,? Pribonic said.
The brothers also own iRock Fitness located at 1541 West Eighth Street.
?Erie Health and Fitness Club will be different than iRock Fitness. It will offer traditional fitness facility programs, such as Silver Sneakers, as well as introduce new services and classes,? said Matt Pribonic.
Although Erie Health and Fitness Club officially opens August 1, the Pribonic?s aren?t wasting any time.
?We will be getting in there right away, meeting the members and staff, and letting them know that downtown Erie will have a new and incredible workout facility,? stated Anthony Pribonic.
